Uganda’s Ultimate Wilderness Experience
Kidepo Valley National Park
Kidepo Valley National Park is Uganda’s most remote and least explored national park, yet it is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most breathtaking wilderness areas. Located in the semi-arid valleys of Karamoja, the park borders South Sudan to the northwest and Kenya just 5km to the east, sitting approximately 700km from Kampala.
Home of the Mountain Gorillas
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
A UNESCO World Heritage Site in south-western Uganda, Bwindi shelters almost half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Its ancient, misty rainforest is one of the most biologically diverse habitats in East Africa.
Where the Nile Explodes Through a Gorge
Murchison Falls National Park
Uganda’s largest national park, split by the Victoria Nile as it forces its way through a 7-metre gap and plunges 43 metres. The northern plains hold big herds of elephant, giraffe and antelope.
Uganda’s Most Popular Safari Destination
Queen Elizabeth National Park
Set between the Rwenzori Mountains and Lake Edward, Queen Elizabeth spans savannah, wetland, crater lakes and forest. It is famous for the tree-climbing lions of the Ishasha sector and the wildlife-packed Kazinga Channel.
Compact, Scenic and Perfect for Walking Safaris
Lake Mburo National Park
The closest savannah park to Kampala, Lake Mburo is small but rich, with acacia woodland, five lakes and species found nowhere else in western Uganda, including zebra and impala. Its size makes walking and horseback safaris possible.
